Software is our business, wood is our passion

Dietrich's celebrates 40 years and reshapes its own future
The strategic and future-oriented further development of the company is ensured.

It’s now 40 years since master carpenter Josef Dietrich and building engineer and computer scientist Uwe Emmer started Dietrich's in 1982. Six years ago, Uwe Emmer handed over operational management to Johann Baptist Lindner as CEO, setting the course for the strategic and future-oriented further development of the company.

Now, the Emmer family and other shareholders from the management and employees have decided to sell the shares completely and to follow the chosen path together with Elvaston Capital Management GmbH as a new partner in the future.

"It has always been important to me that our employees and our clients are equally well taken care of at Dietrich's. With Elvaston, we give our employees certainty in a healthy company. We also can promise our customers in the international timber construction sector that their investments will remain sustainable and secure in the long term," Uwe Emmer comments on the handover of his life's work. Mr. Emmer is retiring completely from the company with immediate effect.

The management team under the leadership of Johann Baptist Lindner as CEO and shareholder remains unchanged: "I have great fun with what we have created here together and I’m looking forward to continue writing the Dietrich's story together with Elvaston. With Elvaston we have found a partner who fits us perfectly. They are approachable, understand SMEs, software and think long-term."

Elvaston, based in Berlin, invests exclusively in the D.A.CH region and currently has around 60 portfolio companies with technology as the common denominator in focus. Dr. Thomas Keul, Partner and Managing Director of Elvaston comments: "With the acquisition of Dietrich's Technology AG, we are opening up the timber construction market with the help of CAD/CAM technology. What is happening here fascinates us. Dietrich's decades of expertise, the huge customer base and, at the same time, the opportunities to make a contribution to climate change and sustainable construction with the digital tools for timber construction - this package convinced us!"
