The workshop will cover 3D design and detailed development of joinery for a timber frame structure, including the roof and envelope, using Dietrich’s software. Upon completion of the three days of training, participants will receive a fully functional trial version for a period of three months, provided they have met the guidelines described in the full course description.

Roof & Timber Layout using FREE Dietrich’s Software

April 13 – 15, 2009

With our free 2D software on your laptop, you will be taught the drafting skills needed to determine roof geometry, including the basic skills to accurately derive roof angles and lengths (backing angles). Using the centuries-old, European rules for roof layout, you will layout timbers and then cut them for use in a small cupola.
